Tutorial 2
Panopticum Water 1.0

Effects : Throw Filling Transfusion Maelstorm Utopia Transfusion |
|||||||||||||
| In this tutorial we'll show you how to create animation using one the effects from the Panopticum Water 1.0. set. The task is to create two clips that run into one another. For the first time it is ok to create clips that are not too complicated. But the more dynamic they are, the better. Water Utopia effect from the Panopticum Water 1.0. set is then applied to each clip. You can use this effect to achieve animation transition. This is not a simple transition though - one image is "washed away" by a water wave and, as a result, replaced by another image. It might seem difficult but it is quite simple in fact. Let's start! Steps:
Let's assume that we already have two animated images. We'll call the first one clip1, and the second one - clip2. ![]() Now import clip1 and clip2 into the composition. Click and drag them one after another from the Project window into Timeline window. Choose the image that you want to apply the effect to. Let's assume that we want the first image to run into the second one. This way, clip1 will be the first in the layers' list in the Timeline window, and clip2 - the second.
Now let's apply the Water Utopia effect from the Panopticum Water 1.0 set.
In the Timeline window select clip1. Then choose Panopticum Effects/Water Utopia from the Effects menu in the upper toolbar. You will see the Effect Control window. The parameters of this effect are set by default so you'll be able to view the animation immediately. The effect runs from left to right. To change this direction, do the following.
Select the Transition group of parameters in the Effect Control window. Set the value for the Effect Direction parameter equal to 90.0. To make the image look more dynamic, reduce the drops' size. To do so, set the value for the Drops Size parameter equal to 4.0. Change the value of the Gravity parameter to 10.0. Then close the Transition group of parameters.
Now let's give the finishing touch to our project. Select the Material group of parameters in the Effect Control window. Set the value for the Aberration parameter equal to 50.0. For Texture Reflection indicate clip1.
Select the Light group of parameters in the Effect Control window and change the values of the following parameters:
As a result your first image - clip1 - is washed away by a powerful water wave, and the second one - clip2 - remains on the background. The effect looks really impressive, yet it is very easy to create. Now you can experiment and try creating more complex clips applying other effects from the Panopticum Water 1.0 set, for example Water Transvaal or Water Maelstrom (these are the effects of one image replaced by another as well). We hope the results won't disappoint you. |
