Tutorial 1
Panopticum Water 1.0

In this tutorial we'll show you how to work with our new Panopticum plug-in. We'd like to offer you something new and unique to help you bring your most fantastic ideas to life. Panopticum Water 1.0. for Adobe After Effects is indeed a great tool for it. This set is designed to help you create various effects with water. You can create very unusual fascinating effects as well as more simple animation, which still looks amazingly. All you'll need to create these breath-taking effects is your fantasy, skills in working with After Effects and your desire to create fantastic animation. And now let's start our lesson.

Steps:

  Creating a project

Select your animation in the Timeline window and perform the following actions: from the Effects menu in the upper toolbar choose Panopticum Effects/ Water Throw. You will now see the new Effects Control window.

To see how the effect works, you can view the animation right away without changing the parameter values. You may like the results you see but we'll keep going anyway. Select the Emitter group of parameters. These parameters will help you adjust the water jet behavior. Now let's set the position of the water source. Enter the values of 120.0 and 19.0. for the Position parameter. Then adjust the following parameters: set the value of Emitter Size to 10.0; Intensity – to 5.0; Max Strength - to 300. Now we'll try to adjust the initial velocity of the water jet. To do so, slide the current time marker in the Timeline window to 0:0 and set the Velocity Direction value to 11.0. Don't forget to click the stopwatch icon in order to set the first key frame. Slide the current time marker to 3:08 and change the Velocity Direction value to 222.0. One more key frame will appear. Now we have to set two more key frames: for the point of time 5:08 enter the value of 327.0 and for the point of time 6:14 - 53.0.
Preview animation and save the project.

  Drops Size

Now we're almost done! Set the value of 5.00 for the Drops Size parameter and the value of 88.89 for the Time Scale parameter.

The same layer that the effect is applied to is automatically chosen for the Texture Reflection effect. But we recommend you to choose another imported image as a reflection. Indicate this image for the Texture Reflection parameter and you'll get a lot more impressive and realistic results. Try experimenting with other optical properties like Multi Refract, Aberration, Optical Coefficient and Refraction and you'll get some really impressive results.
For better rendering quality set the Mesh Size value to 70.0. Now you may preview your animation and save it.

If you follow the recommendations above you should have no problems in mastering the whole Panopticum Water 1.0. package. Try experimenting and you'll get more fantastic results than ever.
